This project is in response to CI07-70402ARRA09 "Healthcare-Associated Infections - Building and Sustaining State Programs to Prevent Healthcare-associated Infections, titled "Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) ". This grant is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act . The PI, Jon Rosenberg, M.D., is head of Healthcare Associated Infections, California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The ultimate goal of this 28-month effort is to reduce the incidence of HAI by at least 10% per year for two or more HHS HAI Prevention Target and to create sustainable HAI infrastructure. CDPH is confident, given existing infrastructure, that a significant proportion of the activities funded by this grant can be sustained.
