Erik D. Ramanathan, JD
Senior Fellow, Center on the Legal Profession, Harvard Law School

Erik Ramanathan serves in non-executive fiduciary and leadership roles in a broad portfolio of organizations in the public and private sectors. In addition to his service as Chairman of the Board of PHFE, Erik has recently served as:

- Senior Fellow at the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession;
- Member of the National Finance Committee of the Democratic National Committee;
- Chairman of the Board of Brain League Intellectual Property Services Pvt Ltd;
- Trustee and Governance Chair at Shady Hill School;
- Trustee of The Hope Institute; and
- Overseer at Speakeasy Stage.

Previously, Erik was Senior Vice President - General Counsel of ImClone Systems, a public biotechnology firm sold to Eli Lilly for $6.5 billion after successful recovery from extensive legal and governance troubles. Prior to his career as corporate counsel, Erik was an attorney at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York, a member of the firm’s regionally preeminent health care practice.

A long time advocate for civil rights and progressive public health policy, Erik spent a decade leading the board of Immigration Equality, the only national education, advocacy and legal services nonprofit dedicated to equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV-affected immigrants and asylum seekers.

Prior to obtaining his JD from Harvard, Erik graduated from Johns Hopkins with a BA in Behavioral Biology.
