Since 1968, PHFE has provided comprehensive fiscal sponsorship to government, nonprofits and foundations throughout the United States. PHFE's services vary significantly depending upon the need of the client. PHFE's Fiscal Sponsorship model offers a client use of PHFE's 501c3 nonprofit status as an umbrella to receive and manage grants and charitable donations, In this model, PHFE provides a full range of personnel and financial support serving as the back office allowing the program to do what it does best-concentrating on its program work and mission. In this model, PHFE becomes the legally responsible entity assuming all risk insulating the program from liability.
Additionally, PHFE offers Fiscal Intermediary services whereby PHFE can serve as a "pass through" for grant funding, encumbering funds so that government agencies are not faced with having to return monies that they are challenged in spending under a timeline too aggressive for many to achieve. This model also assists clients with the expeditious purchasing of equipment, avoiding the bureaucracy that often impedes or inhibits the process.
PHFE additionally provides Fiscal Agency services where a client can contract out its various back office needs under a sub-contract. This is often referred to as outsourcing which allows clients to reduce costs, increase productivity and concentrate on its program work.
